Established in 1984, the Hotel and Tourism Institute (HTI; 酒店及旅遊學院) (formerly Hospitality Industry Training and Development Centre; HITDC; 旅遊服務業培訓發展中心)[1] provides vocational and professional education and training for the hospitality industry. In September 2015, HITDC was renamed to HTI[2]. HTI offers full-time and part-time diploma and certificate programmes targeting young people at Secondary 3 level or above as well as in-service personnel. [3](p.38)

HITDC of the VTC celebrated the opening of its T-Hotel, the first training hotel in Hong Kong to be operated by students.
