It is a part of the Vocational Training Council which was established in 1982. It is one of the strategic initiatives of VTC’s second 8-year Strategic Plan to develop quality manpower in culinary art to sustain Hong Kong’s status as one of the world’s top cities for dining. It aims to become a Centre of Excellence in international cuisines which offers specialised training to build up human capitals which are essential for the further development of the culinary and wine related industries in the region. A purpose-built ICI campus will be in operation in 2018.
