Kwun Tong Vocational Training Centre in Hong Kong was founded by the Regional Department of The Lutheran World Service (LWS) / Lutheran World Federation (LWF) , the predecessor of Hong Kong Christian Service[1], in 1965 – at a time when "the city was so poor, that it was common for charities to distribute free milk powder". The center became for many years pioneer for a variety of vocational training courses, in order to equip students from low-income families with job training and life skills. Through the years, the range of courses changed in response to the actual development of the society. One of the primary courses was a diploma program in photography, being very much in demand. For half a century, KTVTC had always been adhered to its mission to offer unengaged youth vocational training and had indeed trained a lot of talents for Hong Kong.

The centre was closed in July 2013.[2]
