Morrison Hill Technical Institute

Morrison Hill Technical Institute (MHTI) (摩利臣山工業學院) was officially opened in 12 October 1970 by the Governor the late Sir David Trench. The institute offered technician education and technical teacher training. In 1974, technical teacher training courses was transferred away to the Hong Kong Technical Teachers’ College.[1]

Dr. Deric Daniel WATERS was appointed as founding Principal of Morrison Hill Technical Institute in July 1968, more than one year before it opened.

It was renamed as the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Morrison Hill) (香港專業教育學院(摩利臣山); IVE (Morrison Hill)) in 1999. It is one of the member institutions of the Vocational Training Council (VTC) providing vocational education to post-secondary students.
