The Technical Institute (香港官立技術專科學校[1]) was established in 1907. During the Governorship of Sir Matthew Nathan, the government showed interest in elementary technical education. This institute came under the control of the Director of Education and was housed in Queen’s College, then sited on Hollywood Road. This first Technical Institute was absorbed into the Hong Kong University when it opened in 1912. [2][3]
