UNESCO-UNEVOC

UNEVOC is a division of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The UNEVOC Centre (Hong Kong) assists UNESCO's 195 member states to strengthen and upgrade their Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). [1]

The Hong Kong centre is located in Education University of Hong Kong, its mission is to act as part of the United Nations mandate to promote peace, justice, equity, poverty alleviation, and greater social cohesion. It helps to develop policies and practices concerning education for the world of work and skills development for employability and citizenship. The centre assists the UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre as part of the world-wide UNEVOC Network in stimulating international and regional cooperation concerning human development; promoting best and innovative practices in TVET Knowledge sharing; and mobilizing expertise and resources Strengthening partnerships with other relevant agencies.[2]

The UNEVOC Centre (Hong Kong) places emphasis on two themes, Youth and Skills and Greening of Skills. It pledges to develop a strong sense of community and lifelong connections with local and overseas partners to foster on-going collaboration activities that can lead to a sustainable future. [3]
